Operational job control specialist

As an Operational Job Control Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring our ocean freight shipments are financially accurate, fully compliant, and ready for invoicing. By performing detailed checks on shipment files, costs, revenues, and margins, you help safeguard profitability, improve data quality, and support smooth month-end financial closing processes. 

Your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing ocean freight job files to ensure all operational and financial information is complete and accurate. 
• Verifying that all billable services, charges, costs, and accruals are correctly recorded.
• Identifying missing or incorrect cost and revenue entries and coordinating corrections with Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams. 
• Monitoring margin exceptions and investigating unusual or negative gross profit situations. 
• Tracking incomplete jobs, uninvoiced files, aged WIP, and other key performance indicators.
• Providing insights and feedback that help improve processes, reduce recurring errors, and enhance data quality across the business.

You are an analytical professional who enjoys working with data, processes, and financial controls. Accuracy comes naturally to you, and you are comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and drive improvements.

You bring:

• Experience within ocean freight forwarding, freight invoicing, job-file management, financial control, or a similar logistics environment. 
• A good understanding of ocean freight processes and shipment-related cost and revenue structures. 
• Experience working with Yunas or a similar Transport Management System (TMS). 
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. 
• Excellent Excel and reporting skills.
• A structured, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to your work.
• The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational and financial teams.
