Your Responsibilities:
As an Air Import Specialist, you are responsible for coordinating and administrating air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery. You ensure that shipments are processed accurately, customers are kept informed, and all relevant documentation and customs requirements are handled correctly.
Your responsibilities include:
- Processing and monitoring air import shipments
- Coordinating domestic and international deliveries
- Preparing and maintaining shipment documentation
- Entering and managing data in operational systems
- Ensuring compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards
- Maintaining daily contact with customers, agents, carriers, and overseas offices
- Providing excellent customer service and proactive communication
- Preparing customs-related documentation and handling associated correspondence
- Resolving operational irregularities and shipment exceptions
- Following up on claims and supporting continuous service improvement
- Supporting export operations when required
- Working closely with colleagues from operations, sales, and customer service
Your Profile as AFF Import Employee:
You are a detail-oriented logistics professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced international environment. You can prioritize effectively, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and remain calm under pressure.
In addition, you bring:
- 2-3 years of experience in air freight forwarding, preferably within imports
- MBO-level education or equivalent working and thinking level
- Knowledge of customs procedures and international freight documentation
- Experience with customs declarations is an advantage
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong administrative accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- A flexible and customer-focused attitude
